Life Story for
Hugh Charles O'Rourke
July 16, 1925 - August 9, 2009
(Veteran of W.W. 11 - served with the Essex Scottish and the Queen’s Own Rifles)
Hugh passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 9, 2009.
He was the beloved husband of Margaret Corner and the loving father of Elizabeth (Judy) and her late husband Clifford Scott of Acton, Margaret and Don Tuck of Collingwood, Hugh Jr. and Lynda of Airdrie, Alberta, Bob and Bev of Cambridge.
Hugh was the much loved grandfather of: Tammy Bickers, Debbie Burns, Andy Scott, Brent and Brian Tuck,
Rosalind and Rochelle O’Rourke and the great-grandfather of Michael Burns, Dylan, David and Tianna Bickers, Riley and Aleesha Scott, Ethan and Keegan Tuck.
He will be missed by his brother Emmett of Acton and his sister Shiela Fleming of Brampton.
He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Elizabeth O’Rourke, his brothers James and Desmond and his sister Maureen Charlton.
The family will receive friends at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill Street East, Acton on Tuesday, August 11th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
The Legion tribute will be held at 7:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Bob Bulbrook in the “Shoemaker Chapel” on Wednesday at eleven o’clock.
The interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Acton.
Remembrances to The Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
