Grief Counselling

The weeks and months following the death of a loved one can be the most difficult period in a person’s life.  With this in mind, the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home opened the Genesis Bereavement Resource Centre.  It is our hope that this Centre will be a helpful resource to you and your family and those in the community.

Our library has over 100 books relating to various aspects of grief, as well as a number of videos and is open during regular office hours, or by appointment.  One of our booklets, which has proved helpful to many,  “Genesis:  A Personal Guide Through Grief” is available upon request.    You are invited to drop in, visit our library and spend time looking over the books that are available.  Books may be borrowed for a three-week period.  Also available upon request are copies of some of the issues of our newsletter.

 It is our desire to work with other professionals in our community to provide bereavement information, resources and support for those mourning the loss of a loved one. 

We also have a list of counsellors who are available to provide further grief counselling.
