Condolences

Condolence From: Cal Dreise
Condolence: Dear Kuipery family;
My sincerest and deepest sympathy to everyone with the passing into glory of your Mom, Wife,Oma....Gerda, and as I knew her Mrs Kuipery. We rejoice that we know she is with her redeemer forever and that we will all one day be united in glory with her and the many who have gone on before.
As you may or may not know I lived with Henry and Gerda for some two and a half years while working in Acton. I had just finished high school and took a job at a local organ factory some 200 kilometres from where I grew up. During these years I really grew to know Gerda and Henry as two very strong Christian people who had a deep love for Jesus and for their family.
About a year into my stay I had, by this time, made some good local friendships especially this fellow whom I worked with. His name was Sid Vanderwouda. He was the same age as I, early 20's, and we both had a love for music as he played the piano and I the pipe organ. Tragically however Sid was killed in a car accident one late Saturday evening and this hit me hard. Being away from my own family in those early years of "striking out on my own " made this all the more difficult.
I moved past all this through the grace of God and became a better person because of this but you as a Kuipery family need to know that it was Gerda who was used by a loving Heavenly Father to help me make some sense of this. The first month after Sids death was one of the toughest times in my life at that point. And then there was your mom who quietly in her humble way would come along side me and sit and chat about her love for Christ and how this was all somehow in Gods greater plan.
She was one of the most caring people I have ever met and she reminds me so much of my own mother. Listening to you speaking of her during the funeral service made me realize that she lived her life this way and what a legacy she has left for all to see.
So being asked to play the organ at the service to remember Your Mom was both an honour and a privilege for me. So thanks very much for the monetary gift.

So I hope and pray that with her passing you hear more real life stories of this amazing person that God has used in more ways than you..we...could ever imagine. She had a way of saying the right things at the right time.
During all this I can't leave out Henry, Mr Kuipery to me, either. He was there also during this time as well. I remember sitting on the hill behind their house in the tall grass on a warm summer evening talking about all this and then seeing this object flying through the night sky with a brilliant tail of light. Henry, Mr Kuipery, said it was a comet. And who was I to question this. I saw it as another way that God reassures us all that life happens in his perfect time just as he called Gerda home on their anniversary date some 64 years later. Just like the comet in the night sky....right place, right time...right setting.
Stories such as this need to be heard and read, so feel free to send this on especially to the grand children and great grand children so they will get a real sense of who their Oma and Opa really are and the impact Gerda (and Henry) made on this one person.
Blessings to everyone
Your brother in Christ Calvin Dreise.

Condolence: Kuipery family,

It is with great sadness I express my condolences to your family for a wonderful woman mother and friend she will be missed and remembered. I wanted to express a little story of how wonderful she was in my life. When I was in the service for our country she use to write letters and call me from time to time. This brings up quite a bit of emotion for me. When your away from home and 17 and alone when you got very few letters her letters and voice and true Christian love for others was overwhelming. I never forgot the conversations we had. I will truly miss her and never forget how she help me through some of my tough moments as young man Goodbye my friend God bless
