Life Story for Shane Mikle Usher

Shane Mikle Usher
Surrounded by his loving family at Georgetown Hospital, Shane went peacefully home to be with our Lord and Savior on February 16, 2009 in his 47th year after a short battle with cancer.

Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, he is the son of Hazen and Marie Usher (Bunn). He is also survived by his loving “other mother”, Faith Usher, his childhood sweetheart and love of his life, Hilda (Ash) with whom he has been married for twenty-five years, his heart’s pride and joy,
daughters Deanna and Kelly, both at home, his brothers Billy (Rosalie) of Gardiner Mines, Melvin (Laura) of River Denys, Chris (Melanie) of Calgary and his sisters, Arlene MacDonald (Paul) of Valley Mills, Anna Usher of Scotsville, Nova Scotia and son-in-law to be, Justin Maguire of Georgetown, his in-laws, George and Annie May Ash of Linconville, Nova Scotia and their extended families, many special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Shane was predeceased by his brothers, Glenn (1968) and Hazen, Jr. (1990), and his grandparents, Dolly and Billy Bunn and Margaret and Joe Usher.

Shane was a much sought after and respected interior designer and took great pride in his work. He touched the lives of many people with his special ways, even some he never met in person but through his Cape Breton.com family who all loved and respected him. They will miss his contribution to the site. Shane will live on through our special memories with the way he touched our lives.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Georgetown Christian Fellowship Church, Highway #7, on Thursday, February 19, 2009 officiated by Pastor Dave Tapley. A light lunch and fellowship to follow.

Family flowers only please. Remembrances to the
Georgetown Chapter of Cancer Assistance Services,
222 Mountainview Road North, Georgetown, L7G 3R2
or directly to the family c/o Hilda Usher, 60 Park Avenue, Apt. 408, Georgetown, L7G 4Y9 would be appreciated by the family.
