Obituary for Dorson Christopher "Dobbie" Frizzell

“Dobbie” – Dorson Frizzell, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side. Adored & cherished by his wife of 68 years, Patricia Anne Frizzell (Deviney). Loved by his five children, Jim Frizzell, the late Marg Frizzell, Cathy Milton (Peter), Tracey Prothmann (Andy), Carrie Proudfoot (Jack). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Michael (Jen), Adam (Jill), Bart, Rob (Shawna), Wil (Lori), Megan (Tony), the late Kevin Milton, Brad (Caitlin), Spencer, Evie, Gabrielle, April (Jon), Kaylyn, Amber, Jacob (Tessa), Teirney (Anthony), & Sydnie. “Gramps” will be missed by his great grandchildren Ben, Noah, Lucas, Tharren, Ty, Max, Karter, Reese & Lennon.

Dobbie worked for Ontario Hydro & then the family moved in 1960 to Acton, Ontario. Dobbie worked for many years for Acton Hydro (later Halton Hills Hydro). After retiring he worked with his son Jim’s company Frizzell Electric for a few years.

Dobbie was a volunteer firefighter for Acton for over 2 decades. He volunteered for the Acton Legion, & many other worthwhile organizations. Dobbie was elected to the Town of Halton Hills Hydro Commission where he served for 9 years, and as the Head Commissioner for a term. Not one to rest, he also served as an elected councillor for the Town of Halton Hills. An avid cribbage player, Dobbie was a member Acton Cribbage League for over 6 decades & served as their president for many years.

After cremation, a Celebration of Dobbie’s Life will be at a later date, when it is safe to do so. Donations to St. Alban’s Anglican Church, Acton and The Royal Canadian Legion Acton Legion Branch 197 will be greatly appreciated.
