Obituary for Mary Margo Grandy
Mary Margo (Murphy) Grandy was born May 8, 1938 in Toronto, Ontario to Charles (Chuck) and Helen (Giroux) Murphy. She passed away peacefully at her cottage on Catchacoma Lake on March 2, 2021.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Stanley Grandy, her six children, Phillip (Brenda), Michael (Liza), Catherine, Mary (Chuck), Joseph, Lois (Brian), nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Margo graduated from Notre Dame Catholic High school in Toronto. She married Robert at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in 1960. They celebrated sixty years together. As a young girl, she enjoyed many sports, especially swimming. She had an avid interest in ham radio for many years. Other favorite pastimes were reading and taking walks. For 18 years, she and Robert spent the winter months in Holly Hill, Florida, and the summer months at the cottage.
A funeral mass will take place at St. Joseph Patron of Canada Parish, Acton on Monday, March 8, 2021. Due to COVID the number in attendance is restricted, please call Mackinnon Family Funeral Home, 519-853-0350 to confirm permitted attendance. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Acton.
