Alice “Mae” Palmer
1926-2016
Proudly in her 91st year, Mae passed away on December 26, 2016 at the St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre in Guelph.
A loving mother to Jacquelene and her husband John Ford and Sandra and her husband Harve Reid. An adored grandmother to Kyla and Shailynn Reid, Stephanie (Kevin), David (Lauri), Brad (Michelle) Parker, John Jr. (Alisa), Mark (Teresa) and Tom (Natalie) Ford and John and Tammy Reid. A proud great grandmother to 15 and a great great grandmother to Melody. Mae is survived by her sister-in-law June Spires, her many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Mae has reunited with her loving husband John (2001), her siblings; Reg (May), Wayne, Jeanette, her parents Charlie and Vera Spires. Mae was a lifelong resident of Acton and took great pride in raising her family.
Friends will be received at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill Street East, Acton on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7- 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at 1 p.m. An Interment at the Fairview Cemetery to follow.
In Mae’s memory, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke foundation would be greatly appreciated by her family.
