ARCHIBALD, Marie Rose
1949 - 2017
Marie Archibald (nee Wilson) in her 68th year, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2017 after a short courageous battle with cancer at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus. Beloved wife of Steve Archibald for 38 years. Loving mom of Todd (Sandra), Kim (Ken 2014) and Chad. Devoted Grammee to Lacey, Mitchell, Taylor and MacKenzie and Great-Gramma to Anthony, Emmitt, Carleigh and Sadie. Marie is the cherished daughter of Hilda and the late Alex (2006), and much loved sister of Barry (2011), Helen (Doug), Brian (Shelly), Wayne (Carol), Kenny (Linda), Bonnie (Brent) and Phil (Vi). Marie is the loving sister in law to Laurie, Julie and Judy and will be missed deeply by all her nieces and nephews.
Marie was a kind loving lady and welcomed everyone she met with open arms, she was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed opening her home and heart to her Black Fawn Films family where she could be mom to so many and she loved volunteering at the thrift store in Arthur. Marie will be greatly missed by Shelley Marshall, Stella and Hal Steadman and her furry companion Zoey.
We would like to thank the 2nd floor nursing staff at Groves Memorial Hospital for the care they gave to our mom while she was there and the kindness they showed our family during such a difficult time.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will be held at MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill St. E., Acton on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 11 a.m.–12:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12 p.m. Private interment will take place at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to a local animal shelter or Groves Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
