Veteran – W.W. 11
Ab passed away at the Georgetown Hospital in the company of his family on Monday, December 3rd, 2012, in his 88th year.

He was the beloved husband of Mary for 65 years and the loving father of Sandra and her husband Jim Cooney, Jack, Brendan and Valerie.

Ab will be missed by his six grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was a proud veteran of WW 11 (HLI) and a past-president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 197.
Ab was very active in various community activities: minor hockey, curling, Acton Town Councillor, an Elder with the United Church and an advocate for Veterans’ rights.

The family will receive friends at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill Street East, Acton on Thursday, December 6th from 7 to 9 p.m.

His comrades will gather for a Legion Tribute at seven o’clock.

There will be a Celebration of Ab’s Life in the Ladies’ Lounge of the Legion on Friday at noon.

Remembrances to The Alzheimer’s Society or the Legion Poppy Fund would be appreciated by the family.
